A&D EK-410i for Jewelry, Parts, Formulation & Quality Control

Need more details or help choosing the correct item? Call MNM Scales at (832) 290-3120 or email mnmscales@yahoo.com.

A&D EK-410i for jewelry, parts, formulation and quality control is a roughly 400 g-class compact balance with 0.01 g readability, standard RS-232C, ACAI counting, percent and comparator functions. Current A&D/MNM sources contain a 400 g versus 410 g web-label discrepancy, so applications should be designed around the documented 400 g specification unless the exact supplied unit documentation confirms additional top-end capacity. The model is non-NTEP and is intended for internal process measurement rather than direct regulated sale by weight.

Jewelry manufacturing and internal material control

Hundredth-gram readability supports internal weighing of finished pieces, findings, solder, scrap and small precious-material lots. The balance is not an NTEP trade device, so customer payment based directly on weight should use a specifically approved jewelry/commodity scale. For manufacturing, inventory reconciliation and batch control, EK-410i offers more capacity than EK-300i while retaining the same 0.01 g display.

Parts counting and kitting

ACAI counting supports average unit weights down to 0.01 g and a maximum displayed count around 40,000 pieces when capacity allows. Use a larger sample for light or variable components and validate a known hand-counted quantity before making inventory adjustments. If parts vary significantly from piece to piece, weight-based counting can be limited even when the balance itself is stable.

Formulation and small-batch work

Tare a light vessel and add ingredients against written targets. Percent mode can compare a sample to a reference of at least 1 g. Keep the gross load comfortably within the documented capacity, especially because of the 400/410 g source inconsistency. If ingredients require 0.001 g readability, use a finer balance rather than interpolating the EK-410i display.

Quality control and electronic records

HI/OK/LO comparator limits can create an internal pass/fail decision, while RS-232C sends weight or count directly to a PC, printer or logger. Verify the station with known weights before critical work and make sure electronic records preserve the unit and decimal position. A data problem should be diagnosed separately from the weighing system.

Frequently asked questions

Is EK-410i good for jewelry production? Yes for internal process work. Is it legal for trade? No. What capacity should I plan around? 400 g based on A&D’s global table/manual and MNM technical table; confirm the exact supplied unit if the last 10 g matters. Does it count parts? Yes. Does it have percent mode? Yes. Is RS-232C standard? Yes. What is the documented calibration mass? 400 g.
