A&D FX-2000iWP is a 2200 g × 0.01 g IP65 external-calibration precision balance for wet production, food QC, batching, packaging and laboratory work that needs kilogram-range capacity without dropping to coarse bench-scale resolution. Standard RS-232C, ACAI counting, statistics, comparator, underhook and animal-weighing functions broaden its use. The plain FX-2000iWP is distinct from FX-2000iWPN, A&D’s legal-for-trade IP65 configuration.
Capacity, readability and performance
Capacity is 2200 g with 0.01 g readability and repeatability, ±0.02 g linearity and about one-second stabilization in FAST conditions. The 150 mm pan accepts larger vessels than the milligram WP models. Counting mode uses 0.01 g minimum unit mass and percent mode uses a 1 g minimum 100% reference.
External calibration
A&D/MNM list 2000 g and 1000 g external calibration values. Level the balance, stabilize the environment and reference mass, perform CAL, then verify with an independent known weight. If the working range spans from a few hundred grams to near capacity, perform a multi-point verification rather than relying on one full-scale check.
IP65 cleanup and wet-area deployment
IP65 helps protect the balance from dust and water jets in the specified configuration. A&D allows direct water cleaning but says not to immerse the balance or spray it from below. Dry the unit, inspect the pan/support and verify zero plus a known weight after major cleaning before production resumes.
Animal pan, underhook and dynamic work
FXi-12 animal pan compatibility applies to the 1200/2000/3000-size WP models. Animal averaging/hold helps with moving subjects, while underhook supports suspended or density-related setups. Treat fixtures and containers as part of the measurement system: keep gross load within capacity and verify the complete setup.
RS-232C and optional interfaces
RS-232C is standard. Quick USB, Ethernet and internal rechargeable battery are optional, mutually exclusive and remove IP65 compliance when installed. For data capture in a wet environment, the specified waterproof RS-232C cable is the better route when preserving the environmental rating matters.
FX-2000iWP versus FX-2000iWPN
A&D lists FX-2000iWP as the standard IP65 external-calibration model and FX-2000iWPN as the separate legal-for-trade IP65 model. If weight determines price or another regulated transaction, buy the WPN configuration and follow applicable weights-and-measures requirements.
