A&D FZ-2000iWP IP65 Cleaning, Calibration & Connectivity Guide

A&D FZ-2000iWP IP65 cleaning and calibration should be planned together because moisture, temperature and mechanical disturbance after cleanup can temporarily affect precision even when the enclosure itself is functioning correctly.

Clean, stabilize, calibrate, verify

Use cleaning methods within IP65 boundaries, avoid submersion and let the balance dry. Once stable and level, run internal calibration and verify with independent known weights around normal load. This sequence catches both post-cleaning environmental effects and true measurement problems.

Connectivity tradeoffs

RS-232C is standard. Installing FXi-02 Quick USB, FXi-08 Ethernet or FXi-09 battery removes IP65 compliance, and the three options are mutually exclusive. If the scale is purchased specifically for a wet environment, document this configuration rule so a later accessory upgrade does not unintentionally defeat the original environmental requirement.

Troubleshooting

If readings are unstable, inspect level, pan clearance, bench movement, airflow, remaining moisture and sample temperature. Compare a clean dry known mass. If the test mass is repeatable while a process sample is not, investigate evaporation, condensation or motion before concluding the balance requires service.
