A&D GC-15K is a 15 kg / 30 lb intelligent counting scale with 2 g metric direct readability (MNM lists 30 lb × 0.005 lb), 0.4 g normal and 0.02 g fine-mode minimum unit weight, 1,000 internal item records, AIS, ACAI, MicroSD and standard RS-232C. It targets warehouses and production cells where containers and sample lots are too heavy for compact counting scales but sophisticated SKU/data management still matters.
15 kg capacity without losing smart counting functions
GC-15K uses the same 300 × 210 mm platform size as the other GC models but raises capacity to 15 kg. Direct readability is 2 g, so select this capacity because the real container and batch require it—not simply because more capacity sounds better. Smaller GC models provide a stronger direct-weight signal for very light parts; higher capacity trades sensitivity for load range.
Fine-mode counting: 0.02 g unit weight
Normal counting supports unit weights down to 0.4 g; fine mode supports 0.02 g. Those numbers are not direct weighing divisions. A 0.02 g part can only be counted reliably when enough pieces are sampled to create measurable combined mass and when part-to-part variation is controlled. Increase sample size and validate a known count for lightweight components.
AIS, ACAI and 1,000 memories
AIS finds stored unit weights; ACAI improves the active average as more samples are added. Internal memory holds up to 1,000 item records and MicroSD extends storage. For a warehouse with thousands of SKUs, build a controlled data-management routine: standardized item codes, periodic unit-weight audits and backups via WinCT-Counting/MicroSD reduce counting errors caused by stale master data.
External scale connectivity
GC can digitally connect to another A&D balance/scale using RS-232C and can expand with AD-8561. Pair a high-resolution balance when the part is too light for the local 15 kg scale, or use a larger industrial base when bulk bins exceed local capacity. This is a powerful way to keep one counting workflow across very different piece sizes.
Calibration and legal status
MNM identifies GC-15K as externally calibrated. Verify ordinary weight with known references after setup and calibration. A&D’s current U.S. GC page does not identify GC-15K as NTEP/legal for trade; use it for internal inventory, production and checkcounting. If a regulated sale or price determination depends on weight, select a specifically approved weighing device for that transaction.
