A&D GC-15K combines 15 kg capacity with an advanced counting/data system. AIS searches item memory, ACAI improves current average piece weight, MicroSD expands the 1,000-item database, WinCT-Counting manages data from a PC, and RS-232C/AD-8561 allow the controller to use other A&D scales. These functions matter most when they are integrated into a disciplined SKU and verification workflow rather than treated as isolated features.

Fine mode is not 0.02 g scale readability

GC-15K directly reads 2 g increments. Fine counting mode accepts an average unit weight down to 0.02 g because many pieces are sampled together. For a 0.02 g part, a 100-piece sample is only about 2 g—roughly one display division—so practical count accuracy may require still larger sample mass or an external higher-resolution balance. Always validate the method on the actual part.

Item database governance

Use item codes consistently, back up MicroSD files and define who may overwrite unit weights or comparator limits. Password and key locks help protect the scale, while WinCT-Counting can centralize editing. For regulated internal quality systems, document when unit weight was established, from which lot and how it was verified.

Dual-scale architecture

Use a more sensitive balance to establish unit weight for tiny parts and a larger industrial base to count heavy bulk bins. AD-8561 interfaces support expanded connection options. The controlling GC should be configured so operators clearly know which scale is active; verify both devices independently and test a known count after any hardware or software change.

Diagnostics

If weight is wrong against a reference, check calibration/environment/mechanics. If weight is right but count is wrong, check active item, tare, sample, ACAI and physical part variation. If the scale display is correct but PC data is wrong, check serial/interface format. Separating metrology, counting logic and communications avoids unnecessary calibration changes.
