The MNM MS-1-SS-10K 10,000 lb stainless NTEP S-type load cell is the harsh-environment counterpart to a standard alloy-steel S-beam. MNM describes it as stainless steel, moisture-proof sealed, Legal for Trade and suitable for tension/compression applications including crane scales, hopper scales and specialty weighing systems.
Published Electrical and Performance Specs
MNM publishes 3.00 ± 0.01 mV/V rated output, ±0.02% FS nonlinearity, ±0.02% FS hysteresis, ±0.01% FS repeatability and ±0.02% FS creep over 30 minutes. Zero balance is ±1.00% FS. Input resistance is 385 ± 15 Ω, output resistance is 350 ± 5 Ω and insulation resistance is at least 5000 MΩ.
Excitation is specified at 10 V DC/AC. The compensated temperature range is -10°C to 50°C and operating range is -20°C to 60°C. Safe overload is published at 120% FS. The 20 ft cable uses red +excitation, black -excitation, green +signal and white -signal.
Why Stainless and Moisture Sealing Matter
Stainless construction and moisture sealing are useful where condensation, washdown exposure, outdoor humidity or corrosive process conditions would be harder on ordinary alloy-steel sensors. That does not make every stainless S-beam fully interchangeable or suitable for every chemical environment, so compare the exact sealing and approval requirements of the installation before replacing another model.
