Celtron STC and Coti Global CG-SB

Celtron STC is another 3 mV/V-class S-beam family widely used for batching, filling, hopper/tank weighing and scale conversion. MNM also names Coti Global CG-SB as an interchange. When replacing any of these, the goal is not just matching capacity: the installation needs the correct mechanical thread/space, excitation and signal range, wiring arrangement and NTEP status required by the finished scale. MNM’s explicit interchange list provides the starting model match; calibration finishes the conversion.

Electrical Match Checklist

The MNM sensor is rated 3.00 ± 0.01 mV/V, 385 ± 15 ohm input and 350 ± 5 ohm output. Wiring is Red +Excitation, Black -Excitation, Green +Signal and White -Signal. If the old load cell uses the same conventional colors, still verify the indicator terminal labels rather than wiring only by color. If signal polarity is reversed, the displayed load can move negative when force is applied; swap the signal pair rather than excitation if the indicator documentation confirms the wiring.

Mechanical Installation and Recalibration

Unload and secure the scale before removing the old S-beam. Preserve or correctly reinstall rod-end bearings, clevises and tension mounts so the new cell receives axial force. Avoid twisting the cable as the threaded connections are tightened. After installation, perform zero and span calibration with suitable reference loads. A nominal 3 mV/V match does not eliminate the need for recalibration because individual rated-output tolerances and mechanical installation affect the finished scale factor.

Legal-for-Trade Replacement Work

If the scale is used to buy, sell or charge by weight, preserve the required NTEP configuration and have the finished system calibrated and placed back into service according to local weights-and-measures rules. Replacing a failed NTEP component with another appropriate NTEP load cell is part of the process, but commercial approval applies to the working system rather than the load cell in isolation.
