A&D HL-2000i Calibration, Batteries & Readability-Correction Guide

Need more details or help choosing the correct item? Call MNM Scales at (832) 290-3120 or email mnmscales@yahoo.com.

A&D HL-2000i calibration and verification must use the correct performance specification: 2000 g capacity with 1 g readability. The 0.1 g value in MNM’s page title conflicts with both its own detailed table and A&D’s manufacturer data and should not be used for acceptance testing or purchasing decisions.

Return to the HL-2000i corrected buyer guide or read the HL-2000i application guide for use cases.

External calibration and verification

Place the scale on a rigid level surface, allow it and the reference mass to stabilize and follow the A&D external-calibration procedure. Verify with an independent known mass afterward. Acceptance should reflect 1 g readability, approximately 1 g repeatability and ±2 g non-linearity under specified conditions—not the erroneous 0.1 g page-title value.

Batteries and accessories

Replace all four AA cells together and remove them for long storage. Approximately 1,000 hours is the alkaline estimate. The stainless pan and carrying case are optional. Verify zero after changing the pan and after transport. Neither accessory creates IP protection or changes legal status.

Container contact and overload

Bowls and packages must sit freely on the 130 mm pan. Contact with the bench or body makes readings low. Tare does not increase the 2 kg physical capacity. Remove overloads immediately and use a larger platform if the object cannot be safely supported.

Troubleshooting

Drift can come from vibration, airflow, temperature or a moving sample. Poor zero return may be debris or pan binding. If known weights remain consistently wrong after stabilization, recalibrate or arrange service. Do not diagnose a fault merely because the scale does not display tenths of a gram; its verified resolution is one gram.

Frequently asked questions

Correct readability? 1 g. Why does the MNM title say 0.1 g? It is inconsistent with the detailed table and manufacturer data. Is calibration external? Yes. What batteries? Four AA. Battery estimate? Approximately 1,000 hours. Can the stainless pan be washed? Clean the removable pan appropriately, but the scale is not IP rated. Does tare increase capacity? No. Is it legal for trade? No approval is identified. Should 0.1 g be used as a tolerance? No.
