Peak Hold for pull and breakaway force

Auto-hold for stable repetitive measurements

That can simplify repetitive checks where the force is applied, allowed to stabilize and then recorded. Do not treat auto-hold and Peak Hold as interchangeable; one targets stability while the other targets the maximum.
RS-232 for printers and computers
The presence of RS-232 opens the door to printed tickets, terminal capture or computer logging, but the exact connector and serial format depend on the delivered indicator. Confirm baud rate, parity, data bits, stop bits, output trigger and record structure. If using a USB adapter, remember that the adapter creates a serial port; it does not eliminate the need for correct RS-232 settings or software support.
Rechargeable battery versus 110V power
Battery operation is useful for field and portable fixtures, while 110V power supports longer stationary sessions. Establish a charging routine and begin critical tests with adequate battery reserve. If display stability or communications change with power source, inspect battery condition, charging system and power connections before recalibrating the load cell.
Keep modes under control
A multifunction indicator can be left in the wrong mode. Document the required unit, tare/zero state, hold mode and data-output mode for each procedure. Counting and check-weighing functions may be useful in other weighing tasks but can confuse a force-test operator if they are enabled unintentionally.
