Washdown Scales

A washdown scale is a bench you hose down — food rooms, seafood, poultry, and wet process — not a painted shop deck. All Scales USA in Cypress, TX lists A&D SK-WP and HL-WP portion benches, SC/SE IP68 platforms, and Torrey EQB-W receiving benches. Stainless and a sealed indicator matter here; an office postal scale does not.

A live in-stock example is the A&D SK-10KWP at $290.40: 22 lb × 0.01 lb, NTEP, stainless washdown. That SKU is legal-for-trade on the certificate; it still has to be placed in service if you sell by this weight in Texas. A process HW-200KC on the Bench Scales page is not washdown NTEP work. The NTEP sibling line for A&D high-resolution benches is HV-C/CP, not HW-C.

How to choose a washdown scale

Match IP and construction to the hose, not the brochure photo. SK-WP / HL-WP cover portion pans; Torrey EQB-W is the larger receiving platter (15 × 19 in class); SC/SE is the heavier IP68 platform. Pick capacity with headroom and a pan that fits the pan, lug, or boat. If you sell or invoice by this weight in Texas, you need an NTEP model and it placed in service — the certificate is on the model, not the serial number. Dual-display SK-KD SKUs are NTEP counters, not the same as a sealed WP washdown. A painted bench does not belong in a wet room.
