Shipping & Postal Scales

Shipping and postal scales sit on a packing bench or mailroom counter to weigh letters, parcels, and cartons. All Scales USA in Cypress, TX lists Brecknell office, postal, and NTEP shipping models. Mettler PS60 and BC-60U rows still appear in this gallery when they are out of stock — do not treat those rows as available. For a pallet jack on a deck, use Floor Scales.

A live in-stock example is the Brecknell PS-USB-150 at $449.00: 150 lb × 0.05 lb, NTEP Class III, 14 × 12 in stainless platter, SBI-240 indicator, USB and RS-232 in the carton. Compact PS25, 335, and SBW325 units cover letters and small parcels and are not NTEP. If you bill a customer by this weight, you need an NTEP model and it placed in service.

How to choose a shipping scale

Match capacity to the heaviest carton with headroom, then the platter to the box. A 25 lb postal pan is the wrong tool for a 40 lb carton; a 400 lb LPS is wasted on envelopes. Readability should match postage or invoice increment — 0.1 oz on letters, 0.05 lb on 150 lb NTEP benches. Confirm NTEP on the product page if you bill by this weight; USB-to-postage on a PS25 is not a Certificate of Conformance. Ball-top decks belong on conveyor transfer, not a letter stand. Do not use a jewelry or pharmacy balance to ship freight.
