Bench Scales

A bench scale sits on a workbench, packing table, or receiving counter — not on the floor and not on a crane. All Scales USA in Cypress, TX stocks compact industrial benches for shops and production: A&D FG and HW series, washdown food benches, and NTEP models when you sell by weight. Capacities on this page run from a few pounds up through 500 lb class pans.

A live in-stock example is the A&D HW-200KC at $997.50: 220 kg × 0.02 kg (500 lb × 0.05 lb) on a 15.4 × 20.9 in stainless pan, IP65 base, column LCD. That SKU is a process HW-C, not NTEP. The NTEP sibling is the HV-C/CP line. Do not order the HW-200KC if you invoice by this weight.

How to choose a bench scale

Pick capacity with headroom — if the heaviest item is 80 lb, a 150 lb bench is safer than a 100 lb bench you live on the top of. Match the pan to the container, not the other way around. Readability should match the job: 0.01 lb is wasted if you ship 50 lb cartons; 0.1 lb is too coarse for portion work. If you sell or invoice by this weight in Texas, you need an NTEP model and it placed in service — the certificate is on the model, not the serial number. Process benches (including the HW-200KC) are fine for internal weights. Washdown and stainless matter in wet rooms; a painted FG does not.
