A&D FZ-120iWP IP65 balance combines current 122 g capacity, 0.001 g readability, internal calibration and an IP65 dust/water-resistant enclosure. MNM’s older listing title rounds the capacity to 120 g, while A&D’s current matrix lists 122 g. The official IP65 rating means protection against dust and water jets under the rating conditions; it should not be interpreted as permission for immersion or unlimited-pressure washing.

Precision performance in a protected enclosure

A&D lists approximately one-second stabilization under favorable conditions for the FZ-iWP/FX-iWP family. The 0.001 g small-capacity group uses a 130 mm diameter pan. Internal calibration lets the FZ model adjust using its built-in reference mass, useful where the balance may be cleaned frequently or used by multiple operators. Independent check weights are still recommended for verification according to the quality system.

IP65 and interface options

RS-232C is standard. A&D offers FXi-02 Quick USB, FXi-08 Ethernet and FXi-09 rechargeable battery options, but installing any of those options means the FZ-iWP/FX-iWP configuration no longer complies with IP65. A&D also states the three option boards cannot be used simultaneously. This is a critical purchase decision: choose environmental sealing or the optional internal interface hardware based on the actual workstation requirements.

Functions and best-fit users

ACAI counting, percent, comparator, statistics, animal weighing and underhook functions support laboratory and production workflows. FZ-120iWP is attractive for wet-adjacent laboratories, food-development rooms, chemical production areas and cleanup-intensive QC stations where 122 g capacity is sufficient. The protected enclosure helps with routine cleanup but does not remove the need to control drafts, static, vibration and sample temperature at 0.001 g readability.
