A&D FZ-300i precision balance combines 320 g capacity, 0.001 g readability and an internal calibration mass in a compact top-loading platform. It is a practical step up from FZ-120i when samples or containers need more headroom while the process still benefits from milligram display resolution.
Performance and calibration
A&D lists 0.001 g repeatability, ±0.002 g linearity and about one-second stabilization in FAST mode under good conditions. The 130 mm pan supports compact vessels and parts. FZ models contain an internal calibration mass and a clock/calendar, unlike their externally calibrated FX siblings. Internal calibration simplifies routine adjustment, while independent check weights remain important for verification of actual installed performance.
Functions and connectivity
ACAI piece counting, percent weighing, animal weighing, comparator and statistical modes support production and laboratory work. Standard RS-232C can send readings to a PC or printer. FXi-02 Quick USB, FXi-08 Ethernet and FXi-09 rechargeable battery are optional, but A&D states those three options cannot be installed simultaneously. Underhook weighing is also supported for suspended measurements.
Minimum-weight context and model selection
A&D lists a typical USP Chapter 41 minimum weight of about 1.4 g for the 0.001 g group. Treat that as a manufacturer reference rather than a substitute for site qualification. Choose FZ-300i when 320 g comfortably covers gross load. If containers or fixtures routinely approach 300 g, FZ-500i preserves 0.001 g readability while providing 520 g capacity.
