A&D FZ-300i internal calibration simplifies routine span adjustment, but a complete measurement-control program combines that built-in routine with independent verification and a documented response to failed checks. The balance’s 320 g × 0.001 g range is capable enough for demanding bench work, yet its last digits remain sensitive to installation and handling.

Calibration and verification workflow

Stabilize and level the balance, clear the pan and run internal calibration. Then apply traceable external masses around the process range. Record expected value, observed value and acceptance limit. If verification fails, check level, drafts, vibration, static, pan contact and test-mass condition before repeatedly recalibrating.

Interfaces and option conflicts

RS-232C is standard. FXi-02 Quick USB and FXi-08 Ethernet provide alternate data paths, while FXi-09 provides battery operation. A&D states FXi-02, FXi-08 and FXi-09 cannot be used simultaneously. Define the workstation architecture before ordering so connectivity and portability requirements do not conflict.

Underhook and troubleshooting

Underhook weighing supports suspended measurements, but the complete suspension system must remain free from rubbing and drafts. If center-load check weights are repeatable but different pan positions produce materially different values, inspect eccentric loading or mechanical contact. If all checks show a stable bias after internal calibration, service may be appropriate.
