A&D HC-30Ki 60 lb / 30 kg industrial counting scale is the highest-capacity HC-i model, built for large bins of parts, receiving, warehouse inventory and production counting. Its ordinary weight display is 0.01 lb / 0.005 kg (5 g), while A&D lists minimum average unit weight of 1 g in normal counting and 0.05 g in fine counting. The 0.05 g figure is an algorithmic piece-weight threshold, not direct 0.05 g weighing. Up to 99 item memories, ACAI, Audible Weighing Assist, accumulation and optional RS-232C/relay support large repetitive counting jobs. The model is an industrial non-NTEP counting scale rather than a commercial transaction scale.

Weight specifications and platform

Capacity is 30 kg / 60 lb and weight readability 5 g / 0.01 lb. A&D lists ±5 g non-linearity, 5 g repeatability, roughly 10 display updates per second and a 300 × 210 mm stainless platform. The specified calibration weight is 30 kg ±1 g. Despite the large capacity, the platform footprint is the same compact HC-i size, so wide bins must remain fully supported without touching surrounding structures.

600,000-count display and fine unit weight

HC-30Ki can display up to about 600,000 pieces when capacity and average unit weight allow. Fine counting can estimate unit weights down to 0.05 g from aggregate sample mass. A large displayed capacity does not guarantee zero counting error: part variation, sample quality and total sample mass still determine how trustworthy the estimate is. Use larger samples for light parts and manually validate a known quantity.

99 memories and accumulation

Stored IDs reduce setup for recurring parts, while accumulation can total multiple bins or containers. Audible Weighing Assist helps approach a target without continuous visual attention. For high-value inventory, periodically revalidate stored unit weights because suppliers, plating, material lots or moisture can change average piece mass over time.

RS-232C, relay and battery options

HC-03i adds RS-232C and HC-04i adds serial plus relay comparator output. HC-06i adds a rechargeable sealed lead-acid battery with roughly 80-hour runtime without interface. These options support fixed data stations, simple external controls or mobile warehouse carts. Validate option compatibility and data format before ordering/integration.

Non-NTEP industrial use

Current A&D HC-i documentation describes industrial counting features and does not designate HC-30Ki as an NTEP commercial scale. Use it for internal inventory, kitting, receiving and production control. If customer price or regulated commodity quantity is established directly from weight, choose an approved legal-for-trade scale designed for that role.

Frequently asked questions

What is HC-30Ki weight readability? 5 g / 0.01 lb. Fine minimum unit weight? 0.05 g. Does that mean 0.05 g direct weighing? No. Maximum count display? About 600,000. How many memories? 99. Calibration weight? 30 kg ±1 g. Is RS-232C available? Yes, optional. Battery runtime? About 80 hours without interface. Is HC-30Ki NTEP? No; it is an internal industrial counting scale.
