A&D HC-15Ki calibration and verification should validate the 15 kg weighing platform first and the counting workflow second. A&D specifies a 15 kg ±0.5 g calibration weight, 2 g repeatability and ±2 g non-linearity. After weight verification, use a known hand-counted lot to confirm sampling, ACAI and stored item data. This catches inventory errors that a calibration weight alone cannot reveal.

15 kg weight calibration

Level the 300 × 210 mm platform on a rigid bench and use a suitable 15 kg reference. Center the load and keep the platform free from surrounding contact. After digital calibration, verify one or more independent weights. A wide bin that touches the bench can make the scale read low even if calibration is correct.

Known-count validation

Create or recall a unit weight, then place a known quantity on the scale and compare the displayed count. If the weight check passes but count does not, investigate sample size, part variation, stale ID memory and ACAI behavior. Recalibrating the load cell will not correct an incorrect average piece weight stored for a SKU.

RS-232C, relay and WinCT-UFC

HC-03i provides serial data; HC-04i adds serial plus relay. WinCT-UFC can support interactive PC communication and custom data formatting. Before go-live, test the selected ID, tare, unit weight, local count and transmitted count together. A mismatched SKU or stale unit weight can create a perfectly transmitted but wrong inventory record.

Battery and relocation checks

With the optional battery, re-level and verify after moving the scale. Battery life is roughly 80 hours without interface. If readings become unstable, compare AC and battery operation and inspect the platform for contact/debris before changing calibration. High-capacity bins can also create corner-loading effects if not centered consistently.

Frequently asked questions

What calibration weight is specified? 15 kg ±0.5 g. What are weight repeatability/non-linearity? 2 g and ±2 g. Should I validate known counts too? Yes. What if local count is right but inventory software is wrong? Check ID/data mapping and RS-232 communication. Can HC-04i drive comparator outputs? Yes. Is battery operation available? Yes. Is HC-15Ki a legal-for-trade scale? No.
