How to Calibrate the MNM Comp-1K-0.1 LP7515 Compression Scale

Calibrate the complete compression system after the final fixture is assembled. A different plate, adapter or preload changes the unloaded output and can affect span and repeatability.

Prepare the fixture

Align the load path, remove unintended force, secure threaded hardware, warm up the indicator and cycle the fixture. Verify the sensor cable and connector before entering calibration. The empty fixture—not a disassembled sensor—should define zero.

LP7515 calibration sequence

The public LP7515 manual configures decimal position, division, maximum capacity and loading weight before entering [CALon]. At [noLoAd], remove force, wait for stability and press HOLD to capture zero. At [AdLoAd], apply the defined known compression force, wait for stability and press HOLD. The indicator displays [CALEnd], after which the settings are saved and calibration is exited.

Choosing the calibration force

The LP7515 troubleshooting guidance states a minimum calibration load of 10% of maximum, with roughly 60–80% preferred when practical. For a 1,000 lb range, use a safe traceable force appropriate to the fixture. Do not create an unsafe stack of loose weights or rely on an unverified shop press gauge.

Verify the result

Check multiple increasing and decreasing points, repeat one midrange force, and verify return to zero. Test Peak Hold with a controlled repeatable cycle. If low and high points disagree, inspect fixture bending, side load and reference-force quality before recalibrating again.
