How to Calibrate an MNM GX-1-5K Four-Cell Floor Scale: Corner Trim, Zero & Span
GX-1-5K four-cell floor-scale calibration should be done only after the platform is mechanically level, each load cell is free to move correctly and all four signals are wired into the junction box. Corner trimming comes before final zero/span because a scale cannot be globally calibrated into accuracy if different corners produce materially different responses.

Step 1: mechanical inspection and leveling
Confirm the platform is not touching ramps, walls, debris, stops or conduit. Check that every foot is carrying load and can articulate as intended. A rocking or bound platform can create large corner errors that look electrical but cannot be fixed correctly with trim potentiometers.
Step 2: verify wiring and individual response
GX-1-5K wiring is listed as red +Exc, black -Exc, green +Sig and white -Sig. Confirm each cell is connected to the correct junction-box terminals and that the combined output changes in the expected direction when load is added. If one corner behaves opposite to the others, solve wiring/polarity before trimming.
Step 3: corner test
Zero the empty platform after it stabilizes.
Place the same suitable test load near each supported corner in a consistent position.
Record each indicated value without changing the test load.
If corner differences exceed your required tolerance, adjust the junction-box trim according to that junction box's instructions and repeat the complete four-corner test.
Step 4: zero and span calibration
After corner balance is acceptable, perform indicator zero with the platform empty, then span with a known test load appropriate to the system. Follow the exact indicator manual for menu entry and parameter order; the GX-1-5K kit itself does not store the calibration—the connected indicator/transmitter does.
Step 5: multi-point and return-to-zero verification
Check several load points across the normal operating range.
Repeat the corner test after span calibration; trim and span adjustments can interact.
Unload fully and confirm the display returns close to zero without platform binding.
Repeat a mid-range load to evaluate repeatability.

Troubleshooting corner errors
A single bad corner that cannot be trimmed may indicate a damaged cell, wrong wiring, bent mounting hardware, a foot that is not carrying weight, or mechanical contact. If all corners shift together, the problem is more likely global zero/span, indicator configuration or platform mechanics. Do not keep trimming around a mechanical defect.
