How to Calibrate an MS-1-15K 15,000 lb Load Cell After Installation
MS-1-15K calibration should be performed after the load cell is installed in its real load path. The sensor itself does not display pounds; the connected indicator or instrumentation assigns engineering units to the load-cell signal. Calibration therefore ties the installed mechanics and electronics to known reference force.
Pre-calibration mechanical inspection
Make sure the S-beam is loaded axially and is not touching the frame or guards.
Check threaded adapters, rod ends, eye bolts or shackles for correct engagement and freedom to align.
Verify cable routing and connector integrity before adjusting span.
Confirm the indicator is configured for the actual load-cell signal and intended capacity/resolution.
Zero and span workflow
Allow the electronics and fixture to stabilize under normal operating conditions.
With no applied process force, establish zero while keeping normal dead-load hardware in place.
Apply a known traceable load through the same axis and fixture used in service.
Use the indicator’s documented span procedure to assign the known value.
Verify at several intermediate loads, then unload and confirm return to zero and repeatability.

High-capacity calibration safety
