A 25,000 lb pancake replacement is not selected by capacity alone. The IDS-672-25K-CT has a center-thread geometry, and the public listing does not state its complete dimensional or electrical specification set. Before substituting it for another sensor—or substituting another sensor for it—verify every mechanical and electrical interface that affects the finished system.
Start with the Exact Model and Physical Label
Confirm IDS-672-25K-CT, the 25,000 lb capacity and the certificate. The MNM web page has one inconsistent copied “2k” line, so a safety-critical replacement should be based on the physical product identification rather than that stray text. Photograph the old and new labels before installation for maintenance records.
Mechanical Dimensions to Compare
Record overall diameter and height, mounting-hole count and bolt circle, center-thread diameter/pitch/depth, cable exit orientation, load-button geometry and any adapter stack. Even a small height difference can change machine travel or preload. A different thread can prevent safe attachment even if the disk diameter looks identical.
Electrical Values to Compare
Rated output in mV/V, bridge resistance, recommended excitation, maximum excitation, cable conductors, shield/sense wires and output polarity all matter. Check Overload and Environmental Requirements
Confirm safe overload, ultimate overload, operating temperature and environmental sealing if the machine can see shocks, outdoor exposure, coolant or washdown. These figures are not provided on the public listing and should not be borrowed from another model. The machine’s mechanical stop should be engineered independently of the load-cell overload rating.
Recalibrate After Any Sensor Swap
After installation, establish zero in the finished fixture, apply a known force, set span and verify multiple points. Recheck force direction and peak capture if the application is dynamic. A replacement that produces a plausible display is not necessarily calibrated or linear across the working range.
