The MEGA BIE-60T calibration and accuracy-check process should verify both weighing ranges, because this NTEP Legal-for-Trade scale reads 0–30 lb in 0.01 lb increments and 30–60 lb in 0.02 lb increments. For a retail label scale, calibration also needs to be followed by functional checks of tare, unit price, total price and printed label information.
Start with a Zero Check
Clean the platter and confirm nothing touches it. With the platter empty, the display should return to a stable zero. If zero repeatedly drifts, inspect the platter, feet, counter contact and power environment before assuming span calibration is required.
Check Known Weights in Both Ranges
Use suitable certified retail test weights to check several points below 30 lb and at least one point above 30 lb. Place each reference in the center, allow the display to stabilize, and record the result. Repeat the same weight several times. Also place a moderate reference at different positions on the platter to reveal an eccentric/off-center loading problem.
Verify Tare, Price Calculation and Label Output
After weight accuracy is confirmed, test a known tare value, enter a simple unit price and independently calculate the expected total price. Print a label and verify net weight, unit price, total price, PLU/item description, dates, barcode/QR data and safe-handling text that your workflow uses. A correct load-cell span does not guarantee that product data or label templates are configured correctly.
Legal-for-Trade Calibration and Service
Because the BIE-60T is an NTEP Legal-for-Trade device used for customer transactions, do not break seals or change protected calibration parameters unless you are following the approved service procedure and local weights-and-measures requirements. If the known-weight checks fail, contact MNM Scales or a qualified scale service provider for the correct service-mode procedure, calibration and required sealing/testing.
