The MNM Scales 2,500 lb NTEP S-type load cell calibration is performed at the weighing indicator after the sensor is mechanically installed and wired. A bare load cell produces a millivolt-per-volt signal; the indicator must be configured so that the no-load signal equals zero and the signal under a known reference equals the correct displayed weight or force.
Install First, Calibrate Second
Confirm capacity, excitation and signal wiring, then mount the S-beam so it sees axial force. Tightening hardware, changing rod ends or changing the fixture after calibration can shift the mechanical zero, which is why final calibration should be performed in the actual installation whenever practical.

Indicator Zero and Span
With no applied process load, capture the unloaded signal as zero using the connected indicator's calibration procedure. Apply a known certified or traceable reference load, allow the system to settle, and enter that value as the span point. The exact key sequence depends on the indicator being used. After saving, remove the reference and verify zero return, then repeat the load and compare the result. A second reference point helps reveal nonlinearity or fixture problems that a single span point can hide.
NTEP / Legal-for-Trade Installations
If the load cell is installed in a commercial Legal-for-Trade scale, calibration and sealing requirements are governed by the complete approved weighing system and local weights-and-measures rules. Replacing an NTEP load cell does not automatically preserve certification if the system is not correctly serviced, tested and sealed. For commercial installations, use qualified scale service and the required test standards.
