MNM 3,000 lb Crane Scale for Warehouse, Hoist & Material-Handling Weighing
The MNM 3,000 lb x 0.5 lb crane scale is suited to jobs where the item is already suspended and a platform scale would be inconvenient: receiving, shipping, fabricated assemblies, bundled material, shop handling and temporary overhead weighing.
Warehouse Receiving and Shipping
For incoming parts or outbound assemblies, a portable crane scale can weigh loads during an existing lift. Establish a repeatable rigging method, tare slings/containers when appropriate, keep the load steady and record the reading only after swing is minimized. The infrared remote lets an operator manage functions without standing directly at the suspended scale.
Fabrication and Shop Use
Fabricators can use a hanging scale to check weldments, fixtures, coils or assembled components when those items are handled by hoist. Use the same sling arrangement when comparing parts because rigging weight affects the gross reading. Tare can remove known container/rigging weight when the workflow requires net product weight.
Hoist and Material Handling
The crane scale must be treated as measurement equipment in the lifting train, not as a substitute for determining whether a lift is safe. Every hook, shackle, sling and hoist component must be rated appropriately. Avoid shock loading and side loading, and never use a displayed weight to justify exceeding any rigging component's rated working load.
Why 0.5 lb Resolution Can Help
Half-pound display increments can be useful for comparing similar assemblies or checking moderate loads where a 1- or 2-lb display would be coarse. For very dynamic suspended loads, however, motion and rigging effects can exceed the displayed increment. Stabilize the load and focus on repeatable procedure.
Remote, Hold and Total Functions
Use Hold when the operator needs to capture a stabilized reading that will be difficult to see after lowering the load. Total can support batch or cumulative workflows, but confirm how the unit accumulates values before using totals for inventory records. Periodically verify the scale with a known reference load.
