MNM 7516-A for Floor Scale, Truck Scale, Scoreboard & Weight Data Logging

The MNM 7516-A is aimed at industrial users who need more than a local weight display. Its RS-232 port, print support, hold modes and optional data-collection workflow make it relevant to warehouse floor scales, larger platform systems and truck-scale-style applications where weights must be seen, recorded or transmitted.

Floor and Platform Scale Retrofit

A retrofit should start with compatibility: number of load cells, bridge resistance, excitation requirement, signal level, connector pinout and system capacity/division. After physical installation, inspect platform movement, corner balance and junction-box trim before final zero/span calibration. A new indicator can expose an old mechanical problem that the previous display masked.

Truck-Scale and Large-Platform Use

For larger platforms, stable mechanical loading and section/corner consistency are critical. The indicator should be mounted where operators can see it without exposing the plastic enclosure to avoidable impact or weather. If a remote scoreboard is part of the system, confirm communication format and cable requirements before installation.

RS-232, Printing and PC Data Collection

MNM specifically advertises RS-232 and compatible data-collection software that can capture date, weight, time and custom notes. This can be useful for receiving logs, shipping verification, production records, inventory movement and quality checks. Before deployment, define whether the application needs manual print, continuous data, stable-weight transmission or software-triggered capture, then test the full cable/software path with known weights.

Scoreboard and Remote-Display Planning

A scoreboard is useful when forklift drivers, loading crews or operators need to see the weight from a distance. Confirm the remote display accepts the indicator’s output protocol and baud rate. Route serial cables away from high-noise power wiring where practical, protect connectors and label both ends for service.

Choosing the Right Hold Mode

Use Auto Hold for routine stable captures, Manual Hold when the operator decides when to freeze a value, Peak Hold when the highest force/weight event matters, and animal/average hold for moving loads such as livestock. For truck or pallet weighing, hold should complement—not replace—stable loading and proper zero control.

Troubleshooting Data Mismatches

If the display is correct but the computer or scoreboard is wrong, focus on serial settings, cable pinout, communication mode, units and software parsing. If both local and remote readings are wrong, return to the weighing system: zero, span, load cells, junction box and mechanics.
