MNM Four 500 lb Shear Beams for Bench, Platform & Parts-Counting Scale Builds
The four 500 lb alloy shear-beam package is well suited to compact dry-area platforms where a single-point bench cell is not the right geometry or where a larger deck needs four-corner support. Search intent includes DIY platform scale, 4 load cell bench scale, parts-counting platform, inventory scale, shipping platform and small pallet scale.
Why use four shear beams instead of one load cell?
A four-cell arrangement can support a larger or heavier platform while allowing load to be applied at different locations on the deck. It is especially useful when the structure naturally has four support points. The tradeoff is that the system requires a junction box, corner balancing and a more careful mechanical build than many single-point bench scales.

Parts counting and inventory platforms
The load cells provide weight signal; counting performance depends on the connected indicator and the sample weight of the parts. For accurate piece counting, each piece must be heavy enough relative to the scale division and system noise. Build the platform rigidly, corner-balance it carefully and choose an indicator with counting functions if inventory quantity is the goal.
Shipping and small pallet scales
A compact warehouse platform can use four 500 lb cells for boxes, totes or small pallets when the finished capacity calculation supports it. Protect the deck from forklift impact and side loading. If pallet jacks or carts will roll across the platform, account for wheel concentrations and dynamic forces rather than rating the scale only from total shipment weight.
Build checklist
Use a rigid frame; locate one cell near each support point; install the included feet/spacers consistently; route all four cables to a summing junction box; connect an indicator compatible with four 350-ohm-class cells; level the platform; corner-test and trim; then zero/span calibrate the finished scale. Recheck corners after loading the platform near its normal working range.
