MS-1-SS-10K Replacement Guide: Celtron STC SS, Sensortronics 60050 & Coti CG-SB SS

For interchange confirmation, send the old load-cell model, capacity, photos and dimensions to MNM Scales at mnmscales@yahoo.com or call (832) 290-3120.

MNM explicitly lists Celtron STC SS, Sensortronics 60050 and Coti Global CG-SB SS as interchangeable product families for its stainless S-type line. That makes the MS-1-SS-10K a useful replacement candidate in 10,000 lb applications, but interchange does not mean every capacity or revision is automatically drop-in compatible without checking dimensions, threads, approvals and electrical details.

Start with the Exact Old Model

Record manufacturer, model, capacity and any approval markings from the existing cell. For a Celtron STC SS, Sensortronics 60050 or Coti CG-SB SS, verify the exact 10K configuration rather than assuming all members of the family share identical geometry.

Compare Mechanical Geometry

Compare body dimensions, threaded holes, thread pitch, installed height and cable exit. Rod ends or clevises may compensate for small alignment differences, but a different installed length can alter surrounding brackets or vessel support geometry. In a suspended hopper, even a small geometric change may affect piping clearance or alignment.

Compare the Electrical Interface

The MNM stainless cell publishes roughly 3 mV/V output, 385 Ω input resistance and 350 Ω output resistance. Comparable stainless S-beam families often use similar signals, but verify the exact datasheet. Wire colors are not universal and should never be matched by color alone across manufacturers.

Approval and Environmental Requirements

If the existing scale is commercial/Legal for Trade, approval details matter in addition to mechanical fit. If the application is washdown, outdoor or corrosive, confirm the replacement's sealing and material are at least appropriate for the original environment. Do not replace stainless with ordinary alloy steel merely because it is cheaper and electrically compatible.

Recalibrate After Replacement

After installation, perform zero and known-load span calibration and verify multiple points. In commercial service, follow the applicable certified-service and sealing procedure.
