A&D FC-500Si for micro components and precision inventory is intended for parts-counting jobs where a conventional 500 g FC-i scale does not provide enough piece-weight sensitivity. Its 0.02 g direct weighing readability and 0.00005 g fine counting threshold support very small, uniform parts when sampling is designed correctly.

Electronics and micro hardware

Pins, contacts, small springs, micro screws and stamped components can benefit from higher internal counting resolution. Static is a significant risk with lightweight plastic or electronic parts. If count changes when a hand approaches the tray, control static before re-registering unit weight or recalibrating the scale.

Jewelry findings and precision components

FC-500Si can count findings, links, beads and tiny hardware for internal production/inventory. It is not presented as a legal-for-trade jewelry sales balance; use an approved trade device when customer price is determined by weight. The FC-Si’s strength is high-resolution quantity estimation, not replacing certified precious-metal transaction equipment.

How much sample is enough?

The published 0.00005 g fine unit-weight threshold is the mathematical lower end of the counting system. At such tiny piece weights, ordinary 5/10/25/50/100-piece samples may not provide enough total mass for robust real-world counting. Use a larger random sample, let ACAI improve the average and validate the resulting count against a known quantity. The best sample is one that creates a strong total mass signal while representing normal part variation.

Production data and memory

Store 500 recurring items and use standard RS-232C for a printer/PC. UFC output formatting helps connect the count result to labels or inventory software. For multiple serial devices use the appropriate optional interface; for a remote bulk scale use FC-05i. Keep item IDs tied to controlled unit-weight data so inventory software and scale memory reference the same revision.

Frequently asked questions

Why choose FC-500Si instead of FC-500i? 0.02 g direct readability and much finer counting-unit sensitivity. Can it directly weigh 0.00005 g? No. Good for tiny electronics? Yes when adequate sample mass and static control are used. Good for jewelry inventory? Yes internally; use an approved scale for legal customer transactions. Does it store 500 items? Yes. Can it output to a PC? Yes via RS-232C.
