The GX-1SH-2.5K waterproof floor-scale load-cell replacement is a 2,500 lb stainless sealed shear beam sold with one foot and one spacer. It is a strong candidate when a wet-area platform has a damaged corner sensor, but capacity alone does not prove interchangeability. Match the mechanical and electrical characteristics of the old cell before installation.
Record the Old Load Cell Before Removal
Photograph the label, cable routing, mounting orientation, foot, spacer and junction-box terminals. Measure mounting-hole spacing, body height and available clearance. Record the old cell's rated output, resistance and wire colors if available. MNM does not publish those electrical values on the exact GX listing, so confirm them before treating the GX as a drop-in electrical replacement.
Support the Platform Safely
A floor-scale deck can be extremely heavy. Support or lift it with equipment and procedures appropriate to its mass so no one works beneath an unsupported platform. Remove preload from the failed cell, change the sensor and hardware without forcing the body into alignment, and route the cable away from pinch points and sharp edges.
Match Foot Height and Deck Clearance
The included foot and spacer are part of the load path. After installation, all corners should carry load and the deck should clear surrounding structure. One corner sitting too high or low can create rocking, corner errors and poor return to zero. Compare the new hardware with the remaining corners and inspect check rods or overload stops for clearance.
Reconnect and Test Before Calibration
Connect the new sensor according to verified excitation/signal functions, not guessed colors. Power the scale and watch whether the reading responds smoothly as that corner is loaded. If the reading goes negative or saturates, stop and recheck wiring. If only the replaced corner responds differently, inspect compatibility and mechanical installation before trimming the junction box.
Corner Balance and Recalibration Are Part of the Job
Replacing one load cell can alter corner sensitivity. Perform a repeated corner test, adjust the junction box if used, then zero and span-calibrate the complete scale using the actual indicator procedure. Finish with several verification loads.
