The MNM Scales 3,000 lb x 0.5 lb compression scale is a heavy-duty S-type load cell system aimed at coil-spring, suspension, actuator, clamp and industrial test-stand work. Its 3,000 lb capacity reaches well beyond small bench spring testers while the 0.5 lb display increment provides useful detail for comparing spring force or process force across repeated tests.

Core Specifications and Functions
The system is configured for 3,000 lb maximum force with 0.5 lb readability and uses an S-type tension/compression sensor. MNM lists an OP-902/LP7515-style digital indicator with a large backlit LCD, Peak Hold, lb/oz/kg units, RS232 communication, animal/dynamic weighing capability, AC adapter operation and AA-battery portability. The indicator can drive multiple 350-ohm load cells in custom systems, although this package is calibrated around its supplied sensor.
Why This Capacity Fits Heavy Coil Springs
Motorsports, off-road and industrial springs can require far more than a few hundred pounds of force at working compression. A 3,000 lb range gives a test fixture room to evaluate heavy coil springs, spring packs and suspension components while documenting force at specific compressed heights. To calculate spring rate, pair the force reading with an accurate displacement measurement and compare the force difference across a known change in spring height.

Industrial Uses Beyond Springs
The same system can measure linear actuator thrust, clamp force, assembly press force, fixture reaction, insertion/extraction force, machinery loads and custom R&D test stands. The S-beam can measure tension as well as compression when the mechanical fixture is designed correctly, expanding the system beyond a spring-only tool.
Peak Hold and RS232
Peak Hold is useful for breakaway, maximum compression and short-duration force events. RS232 gives engineers or production users a connection path for compatible external data collection. For repeatable QC tests, document test speed, fixture geometry, spring orientation, preload and displacement points along with the measured force.
