A&D HD-60KA for heavy parts and warehouse inventory is built around 120 lb / 60 kg gross capacity, a large stainless platform and straightforward sample-based counting. It is a practical choice for bearings, castings, fittings, maintenance hardware and bulk containers where sophisticated SKU databases are less important than capacity, ACAI and easy operation.

Heavy bearings and machined parts

Heavy parts usually create a strong weight signal, making them good candidates for HD-60KA. Use a representative sample and ACAI, then verify a known count. Oil films, chips and packaging residue can affect unit mass and should be removed/standardized when accuracy matters.

Bulk hardware and maintenance stores

The 60 kg range accommodates bins that would overload typical 10–30 kg counters. Use tare for the container but remember gross capacity does not increase. Comparator limits can support target quantities and M+ accumulation can total several boxes or bins during inventory consolidation.

Receiving and physical inventory

Sample the actual incoming lot, especially after a supplier change. Count results can be biased by unit-mass variation even when ordinary weighing is accurate. For annual physical inventory, alkaline battery operation reduces dependence on outlets; verify the scale periodically during the day and stop mobile carts before taking readings.

When HD-60KA is too coarse

Direct readability is 10 g, so tiny parts may be better handled by FC/GC on a smaller local scale or by a two-scale system. Select HD-60KA for heavy local loads and uncomplicated counting. Do not choose 60 kg capacity for a 1 kg job if finer direct weight resolution is more important than headroom.

Frequently asked questions

Good for bearings/heavy hardware? Yes. Does tare increase the 60 kg capacity? No. Can it count small parts? Yes with adequate sample mass, but a lower-capacity scale may be more sensitive. Can it compare target quantities? Yes. Can it accumulate multiple batches? Yes. Good for mobile physical inventory? Yes with battery power and a stable measurement surface.
