A&D FZ-1200i balance is a 1220 g × 0.01 g internal-calibration model for users who need kilogram-class capacity with hundredth-gram readability. Current A&D specifications list 1220 g capacity, which is the better technical reference even when older catalog descriptions round the model to 1200 g.
Performance and internal calibration
A&D lists 0.01 g repeatability, ±0.02 g linearity and roughly one-second stabilization in FAST mode under favorable conditions. The larger FZ-i group uses an approximately 150 mm pan. FZ models contain an internal calibration mass and clock/calendar, so routine calibration does not require handling a separate kilogram-class mass each time. Independent check weights remain important for verification.
Functions and interfaces
The FZ-1200i supports ACAI counting, percent, comparator, animal weighing, statistics, underhook and GLP-style output. RS-232C is standard. FXi-02 Quick USB, FXi-08 Ethernet and FXi-09 rechargeable battery are optional, but A&D states those three cannot be installed simultaneously. A&D also lists the FXi-12 animal pan for this larger size group.
Applications and minimum-weight context
The 1220 g range is useful for formulation, production batching, packaging checks, parts counting and QC where 0.1 g is too coarse. A&D publishes a typical USP Chapter 41 minimum weight around 14 g for the 0.01 g FZ/FX group. Use that only for preliminary selection; regulated facilities should qualify the installed balance and establish their own minimum weight.
