A&D FZ-1200iWP food production balance applications benefit from 1220 g capacity, 0.01 g readability, internal calibration and an IP65 enclosure. It is useful where development batches, package samples or wet-adjacent QC work need more precision than a general bench scale but cleanup demands are greater than in a dry laboratory.
Batching and food R&D
The balance can handle medium formulation vessels and ingredient additions while percent mode helps with ratio-based work. Keep the outside of containers clean and dry before final weighing. Gross vessel plus sample mass must stay below capacity even when tare makes the display read zero before ingredients are added.
Wet QC and cleaning
IP65 is valuable around incidental splashes and frequent cleanup, but it is not an immersion rating. After significant cleaning, let the balance dry and return to stable room conditions, then run internal calibration and verify with a known external mass. Water droplets, condensation and temperature differences can create errors even when the enclosure itself is protected.
Animal weighing and data
A&D lists the FXi-12 animal pan for the 1200/2000/3000 iWP group. Animal mode can help stabilize moving subjects within the model’s capacity. RS-232C provides base data output. If optional USB, Ethernet or battery boards are installed, A&D states the configured unit loses IP65 compliance, so do not add those options casually to a washdown-focused workstation.
