A&D FZ-500i internal calibration makes routine adjustment easy, but dependable results still come from combining calibration, independent verification, environmental control and a defined data workflow. The 520 g × 0.001 g model is especially useful where larger tare containers make external calibration logistics inconvenient.
Routine control sequence
Start with a stable level installation, allow the balance to acclimate, clear the pan and run internal calibration. Then verify with independent known weights around the normal process range. Document expected value, observed value, error and acceptance criterion. A verification point should represent the work rather than being chosen only because a convenient weight is nearby.
Data interfaces and option conflicts
RS-232C is standard. FXi-02 Quick USB, FXi-08 Ethernet and FXi-09 rechargeable battery are optional, and A&D states those three cannot be used simultaneously. Decide whether the workstation needs network connectivity, direct PC transfer or portable power before ordering.
Troubleshooting and FZ versus FX
If verification fails, check level, drafts, vibration, static, pan contact and test-weight condition. Repeat the mass to distinguish random scatter from consistent bias. FZ-500i and FX-500i share the same 520 g × 0.001 g performance class, but FZ contains the internal calibration mass while FX uses external calibration. Choose FZ when automatic internal calibration improves operator consistency or quality-system workflow.
