A&D HC-15Ki 30 lb / 15 kg industrial counting scale is the highest-internal-resolution HC-i model, rated up to 1/750,000 internal counting resolution and a 750,000-piece maximum display. The actual weight display is 0.005 lb / 0.002 kg (2 g). A&D lists minimum average unit weight of 0.4 g in normal counting and 0.02 g in fine counting; 0.02 g is not the direct weighing readability. With 99 ID memories, ACAI, Audible Weighing Assist, accumulation, a detachable three-window display and optional RS-232C/relay, HC-15Ki is designed for internal high-volume inventory and kitting—not NTEP commercial transactions.

Weighing and counting specifications

Capacity is 15 kg / 30 lb and weight readability 2 g / 0.005 lb. A&D lists ±2 g non-linearity, 2 g repeatability, approximately 10 display updates per second and a 300 × 210 mm platform. The specified calibration weight is 15 kg ±0.5 g. Counting can display up to about 750,000 pieces, which is a count-display capability rather than a guarantee of perfect accuracy on every large lot.

Why 0.02 g does not mean 0.02 g weighing

Fine counting can calculate an average unit weight as low as 0.02 g by weighing a large group of pieces and using the scale’s internal resolution. The main weight display remains 2 g. For tiny components, the aggregate sample must be large enough that total sample mass is significant; otherwise one display/internal uncertainty can create a large percentage count error. Use a larger sample and validate a known count before relying on hundreds of thousands of pieces.

Memory and target-count workflow

Ninety-nine memories store item data such as ID, unit weight and tare. Audible Weighing Assist and comparator targets help an operator approach the desired piece quantity without staring at the display. Accumulation can combine multiple bins into one total. These features make HC-15Ki useful for production lines with recurring components and high counts.

Optional interface and battery

HC-03i adds RS-232C; HC-04i adds RS-232C plus comparator relay output. HC-06i provides sealed lead-acid battery operation for roughly 80 hours without interface. The detachable display can also use a 2 m extension cable. Design the station around whether data capture, external relay output or mobility is the priority.

Trade status

A&D’s current HC-i product page positions HC-15Ki as an industrial counting scale and provides no NTEP designation; current product catalogs distinguish NTEP product families separately. Use HC-15Ki for internal count, inventory and QC. If weight establishes a regulated sale, select an NTEP-certified scale specifically approved for that transaction.

Frequently asked questions

What is HC-15Ki weight readability? 2 g / 0.005 lb. What is the fine minimum unit weight? 0.02 g. Is that direct weighing readability? No. Maximum count display? About 750,000. How many ID memories? 99. Calibration weight? 15 kg ±0.5 g. Is RS-232C available? Yes, optional. Battery runtime? About 80 hours without interface. Is HC-15Ki NTEP? It is an industrial non-trade counting model, not an NTEP transaction scale.
