Prime Floor Scale Cable: 15 ft vs 30 ft 4-Pin to 4-Pin Comparison

MNM lists both a 15 ft 4+4 cable and a special 30 ft 4+4 cable for Prime floor scales using PS-IN202 LED/LCD or PS-IN108 indicators. The right length is usually the shortest cable that reaches the indicator safely without tension or risky routing.

15 ft cable: best for typical nearby indicator mounting

The MNM-branded 15 ft cable is listed at $39 and uses four 20 AWG copper conductors with braided shielding. It is a good fit when the indicator is on a nearby wall, column or desk and the cable can be routed with strain relief. Less excess cable means fewer loops to protect from forklifts and cleaning equipment.

30 ft cable: for remote indicator placement

MNM also lists a special 30 ft Prime 4-pin-to-4-pin cable at $78 for PS-IN202/PS-IN108 applications. The extra reach can help when the indicator must be farther from the platform, but route the longer cable carefully and avoid coiling excess next to motors or high-current wiring.

Does cable length affect scale accuracy?

In a correctly designed system, the specified cable should work as intended. Cable conductor resistance, shielding and electrical noise matter more as runs get longer, which is why using the correct manufacturer-style cable is preferable to an improvised extension. After changing cable length, verify zero and known weight performance even if a full recalibration is not required.

Selection checklist

Measure the real routing path, not straight-line distance. Allow service loops but avoid large unnecessary coils. Confirm both ends need the same four-pin round connector. Confirm the system is one of the Prime/PS-IN applications the cable is intended for. Protect the run from traffic, moisture entry and sharp metal edges.
