A&D HD-30KA for warehouse cycle counts is a straightforward 60 lb counting platform for businesses that want ACAI, comparator and accumulation without maintaining hundreds or thousands of stored item records. Its large 300 × 380 mm stainless platform supports bins and hardware lots, while simple A-type controls reduce operator complexity.
Hardware and maintenance inventory
Use sample-based counting for bolts, bearings, fittings and maintenance parts. If items are light or vary noticeably, select 25/50/100 pieces instead of a tiny sample and let ACAI improve the average. Re-sample when supplier, plating or part revision changes; a correct scale can still give the wrong count when the assumed unit weight is stale.
Kitting and packing
Comparator limits can tell operators whether a package count is low, acceptable or high, and M+ accumulation can total quantities across containers. The simple KA interface is useful when a workstation should follow a fixed process rather than allow frequent manual unit-weight entry. Use key lock where appropriate to reduce accidental changes.
Receiving checks
For incoming lots, sample the actual delivered parts and compare the estimated quantity with packing documents. Do not reuse an old average if the supplier or finish changed. Large containers should sit entirely on the pan without touching a shelf or display; mechanical bridging makes the measured weight and count artificially low.
Portable inventory carts
Six C-cell batteries can provide about 200 hours with alkaline cells according to A&D U.S. Stop the cart on a rigid surface before weighing and check zero periodically. Optional carrying handle and rechargeable battery pack support mobile use, but the 300 × 380 mm platform still needs a stable installation during each measurement.
When GC or FC is a better choice
Choose GC when you need 1,000-item memory, MicroSD, AIS and modern PC/database workflows. Choose FC when very fine unit-weight sensitivity or multi-scale counting is more important. Choose HD-30KA when you want simple, economical sample-based counting with a large 60 lb platform and optional data output.
Frequently asked questions
Good for bolts/bearings? Yes within 60 lb gross capacity. Does it remember many SKUs? HD is a simpler platform; choose GC/FC for large item databases. Can it compare pack quantities? Yes. Can it total multiple containers? M+ accumulation supports this. Can it run all day on batteries? A&D lists about 200 hours with alkaline cells. Does it have standard RS-232C? No, it is optional.
