MNM Scales 2,000 lb x 0.2 lb Load Cell for Hoist, Rigging & Winch Force Testing

For help matching the system to a controlled hoist or pull test, call (832) 290-3120 or email mnmscales@yahoo.com.

The MNM Scales 2,000 lb x 0.2 lb load cell for hoist, rigging and winch force testing measures force directly in an inline load path. That makes it useful for controlled shop tests where the goal is to quantify tension rather than infer it from a motor rating, equipment label or subjective feel.

Inline Tension Measurement

Install the S-beam between properly rated connections so the force travels through its central axis. Keep the sensor out of side load and bending, and do not treat it as a general-purpose shackle. The 2,000 lb capacity suits lighter hoists, small winches, cable assemblies and rigging fixtures that do not require the headroom of 5,000 lb or larger systems.

What Peak Hold Tells You

A pull can have a higher breakaway force than steady running force. Peak Hold can capture that maximum so the operator does not need to watch the display continuously. Repeat the same geometry when comparing tests; pulley changes, line angle and friction can change the force measured even when the equipment itself has not changed.

Safety and Test Planning

Keep all components within their own rated limits and keep personnel out of the line of force. A load-cell reading does not certify a hoist, sling, anchor or recovery point. Formal proof-load tests may have prescribed procedures, test factors and documentation requirements that go beyond simply measuring force.
