MNM Scales 2,000 lb x 0.2 lb S-Type Load Cell & LP7515 Guide

For product details or help choosing the correct load-cell system, call MNM Scales at (832) 290-3120 or email mnmscales@yahoo.com.

The MNM Scales 2,000 lb x 0.2 lb S-type load cell system combines a calibrated alloy-steel S-beam with the LP7515 digital indicator for tension and compression measurement. MNM lists the system as calibrated and ready to use, with two eye bolts, AC adapter, batteries and a 2,000 lb capacity displayed in 0.2 lb increments.

2,000 lb x 0.2 lb Specifications

The product listing specifies 2,000 lb capacity, 0.2 lb readability, Peak Hold, an NTEP alloy-steel S-type load cell and LP7515 readout. The LP7515 has a six-digit 0.7-inch LCD with blue backlight, tare and auto-hold, lb/kg/oz units, up to 1/15,000 display resolution, low-power and overload indication, a stainless wall-mount bracket and operation from an AC adapter or three AA batteries.

Why This Capacity and Readability Combination Is Useful

A 2,000 lb range fits many medium-force fixtures where a 3,000–5,000 lb system would provide unused capacity. The 0.2 lb increment is fine enough for comparative spring, actuator, cable and component testing while retaining substantial headroom for industrial work. As with any load-cell system, display readability should not be confused with overall uncertainty.

Tension and Compression Setup

The S-beam can be integrated into a pull fixture or a compression fixture when the mechanical adapters keep force centered through the sensor. Eye bolts are convenient for tension work, while compression applications may require different fixtures so the sensor is not bent or side-loaded. Always rate the frame, adapters and fasteners for the intended force independently of the load cell.

LP7515 Operating Features

LOCOSC documentation for the LP7515 lists zero, tare, accumulation, animal/peak/data hold, check weighing and kg/lb switching, with optional RS-232 depending on configuration. The MNM listing specifically calls out tare, auto-hold and lb/kg/oz. Confirm the exact port configuration supplied with your system if external data output is important to your application.

Applications

Useful applications include spring-force comparison, actuator thrust, clamp-force checks, cable and chain tension, hoist and suspended-load measurement, winch pull testing, fabrication fixtures and general manufacturing QC. The related articles below separate these use cases so each page answers a specific buyer/search question.

Troubleshooting

If the display will not return to zero, unload the sensor completely and inspect for fixture preload. If readings are unstable, check the load-cell connector, cable routing, battery condition and electrical noise. If the value is repeatable but consistently wrong, verify calibration with a known load. If the value changes with load direction or fixture position, suspect side load or mechanical binding.
