Compatibility Checklist Before You Buy

Why Replace All Four Cells Instead of One?
A single-cell replacement can be appropriate when the remaining cells are healthy and the new sensor is closely matched. A four-cell set can be attractive when multiple cells are corroded, the system has mixed unknown replacements, the platform has persistent corner-balance problems or the owner wants a consistent new sensor set. Whichever approach is chosen, a replacement changes the weighing system enough that corner adjustment and span verification should follow.
Wiring Differences: Do Not Match by Color Alone
MNM publishes red +excitation, black -excitation, green +signal and white -signal. Another manufacturer may use different colors. When replacing an existing cell, identify the electrical function of each old conductor from its documentation or junction-box terminals instead of assuming color equivalence. If the new cell produces a negative reading under load, signal polarity may be reversed, but confirm the whole wiring path before changing leads.
After Replacement: Corner Trim and Recalibration
Level the scale, make sure all feet carry load and place the same reference weight over each corner. Trim the summing box until the corners agree, then perform indicator zero and span calibration. Recheck the corners after span and verify at another load if possible. A cell that is electrically compatible but mechanically preloaded can still produce poor corner accuracy, so investigate the installation if trimming requires an extreme adjustment.
