A&D FC-1000i fine mode reduces the minimum calculated unit weight from 0.02 g in normal mode to 0.001 g, while the direct weighing display remains 0.1 g. Understanding that separation prevents the common mistake of treating a parts-counting algorithm specification as laboratory balance readability.

Sampling strategy for light pieces

As individual parts become lighter relative to the 0.1 g weighing division, sample more pieces to build a stronger total signal. Use ACAI to refine average unit weight as more known pieces are added. If unit-to-unit variation is large, count accuracy may be limited by the product itself rather than by electronic resolution.

1 kg calibration and verification

A&D specifies a 1 kg ±0.02 g calibration reference. Level and stabilize the scale, complete digital calibration, then independently verify with known masses. If direct weight verifies but piece count does not, focus on sampling/unit-weight setup rather than recalibrating the scale repeatedly.

Remote scale for bulk counting

FC-05i can connect a remote platform. Establish average unit weight on FC-1000i when its local sensitivity is appropriate, then count a larger batch on the remote platform. Calibrate the remote scale separately and verify the transfer workflow with a known quantity before high-value inventory decisions.

Interface choices

Standard bidirectional RS-232C supports a printer or PC. Additional serial channels or comparator relay are optional; FC-03i and FC-04i are mutually exclusive. Bluetooth, USB and Ethernet can be achieved through supported A&D converters connected to the serial workflow without changing the basic weighing electronics.
