A&D FC-1000i for kitting and stockroom counting gives operators a 1 kg local platform that can handle larger sample lots than FC-500i while still estimating small unit weights through ACAI. It is useful for hardware, assembly parts, maintenance inventory, receiving checks and kit completeness where repeated SKUs benefit from stored item data.

Kitting and line-side inventory

Recall item ID/unit weight, tare and comparator values from memory, then count the required quantity into a standardized bin. Comparator outputs help identify underfilled or overfilled kits. Periodic hand-count audits are useful for critical assemblies, especially when piece weights vary by lot.

Maintenance and hardware stockrooms

Bolts, washers, clips, terminals and fittings often need faster cycle counts than manual enumeration. FC-1000i balances sensitivity and useful sample capacity. For heavier hardware or bulk bins, move to FC-2000i/5000i or use a remote platform rather than overloading the local scale.

Receiving verification

Use a known item setup to compare incoming quantities against packing slips. For a new supplier or changed part, build a fresh representative sample before counting. Different plating, moisture, packaging residue or manufacturing tolerance can shift average piece weight enough to bias a large count.

Electronic records

RS-232C can output count and related data to a PC or printer, and UFC can format the output. Validate item code, count field, units and terminators with the receiving software. If automation needs comparator relay, use the compatible option instead of assuming every interface board can be installed simultaneously.

Frequently asked questions

Is FC-1000i good for bolts and hardware? Yes within 1 kg gross capacity. Can it count parts below 0.1 g? Yes by average piece-weight counting when a sufficiently large sample is used. Does it store item setups? 500 IDs. Can it feed inventory software? Yes through RS-232C or supported converters. What if part weight changes by supplier? Re-sample/revalidate unit weight.
