A&D FC-5000i is a 10 lb / 5 kg industrial counting scale with 0.5 g direct readability and ACAI. A&D lists a 0.1 g normal minimum unit weight and 0.005 g fine-mode minimum unit weight for piece calculations. The 0.005 g figure does not mean the scale directly weighs in five-milligram increments; it is the counting algorithm’s minimum average piece-weight setting in fine mode.
Capacity and accuracy specifications
Capacity is 5 kg / 10 lb with 0.5 g / 0.001 lb readability, approximately 0.5 g repeatability and ±0.5 g non-linearity. The platform is about 300 × 280 mm. Calibration uses a 5 kg ±0.1 g reference. A maximum displayed count of one million pieces and flexible sample sizes support high-volume inventory when piece uniformity is suitable.
Why FC-5000i fits larger bins and lots
The 5 kg local capacity accepts heavier containers and larger sample lots than FC-500i/1000i/2000i. That is useful for bearings, fittings, molded parts, larger fasteners and maintenance inventory. The tradeoff is coarser direct readability and higher minimum piece-weight thresholds, so choose the lowest capacity that safely accommodates the real job.
Memory, ACAI and comparator workflow
Up to 500 stored IDs allow frequent jobs to retain average unit weight, tare, codes, accumulation and comparator limits. ACAI improves piece-weight estimation as more pieces are added. Comparator output and audible indication help with repetitive pack quantities, but the unit-weight data should be refreshed whenever the physical part changes.
Data interfaces and remote-scale expansion
Standard RS-232C connects to computers or printers. Optional additional serial channels, relay output and FC-05i remote scale let the FC-5000i become the controller in a larger counting station. A remote platform is useful when bulk lots exceed 5 kg; calibrate and verify that platform separately.
Legal-for-trade status
A&D’s current U.S. FC-5000i page describes the model as a high-resolution counting scale and does not list an NTEP legal-for-trade approval. Use it for internal inventory, production counting and kitting. Commercial transactions based on weight should use an explicitly certified weighing device.
