A&D FS-30Ki calibration requires external reference weights, but on a large 380 × 300 mm platform the mechanical setup is equally important. Boxes, tubs and trays can contact a column, table edge or surrounding equipment and create load-sharing errors. A good FS-30Ki verification program therefore checks calibration, repeatability, load position and comparator setup separately.
External calibration and verification
Level the scale and inspect the platform before calibration. Use appropriate reference weights for the 30 kg system, then verify at representative loads. Record as-found performance before adjustment when troubleshooting drift. For the legal-for-trade FS-30KiF, protect approved configuration/seals and use qualified service in accordance with local requirements.
Eccentric load and container contact
Test a known load near the center and representative pan positions if production uses large containers. A large position-dependent difference can indicate leveling, pan support or mechanical interference. Ensure boxes do not rest against the display column or bench. Calibration at the center cannot compensate for a portion of the load being physically supported elsewhere.
Comparator and memory verification
Verify the displayed weight first, then check HI/OK/LO against the stored target/limits. With 100 memories, selecting the wrong item can produce incorrect production decisions even while weighing accuracy is perfect. Use controlled product IDs and change-management procedures for critical packaging lines.
Interfaces and relay control
FS-03i supplies RS-232C plus comparator relay; FS-04i supplies RS-422/485 plus comparator relay. They cannot coexist. Validate output formatting and PLC/pass-fail logic using known test loads before relying on automation. Preserve IP65 installation requirements when adding interface hardware.
FS-30KiF legal-for-trade configuration
A&D U.S. lists FS-30KiF as legal for trade at 70 lb × 0.005 lb with NTEP/MC approval. The global FS-30Ki can select 2/5/10 g display resolution for process use. Those are different concepts: purchase the approved F configuration for a regulated transaction and do not equate selectable process resolution with legal division size.
