A&D FS-30Ki for cartons and large food trays is the FS-i choice when production packages are too large or heavy for a compact checkweigher. Its 30 kg / 70 lb capacity and 380 × 300 mm stainless pan support ingredient bins, case checks, trays and packing-line QA while tricolor comparator lights keep operator decisions fast.
Carton and case verification
A case with a missing item can often be detected from expected total weight. Store comparator limits for the SKU and flag cases that are unusually low or high. For mixed-product cases, verify the expected weight distribution carefully because natural product variation can be wider than the mass of a missing component.
Large food trays and ingredient bins
The larger platform accommodates trays and tubs used for prepared foods, meat, bakery ingredients and batch staging. Tare the empty container and keep gross weight under 30 kg. IP65 stainless construction helps cleanup, but ensure the container does not bridge against the column, bench or another object—mechanical contact can cause a false low reading.
Packing-line giveaway control
Use the analog sweep and comparator lights to top off products without excessive giveaway. The fast 0.5-second response makes manual inspection practical. Set limits from the process specification and legal/net-content requirements rather than automatically using the finest available display resolution as the acceptable tolerance.
Data logging and automation
Optional serial plus relay interfaces can send readings to a PC/printer and pass comparator status to production controls. For traceability, store product ID/limits in a controlled process and validate that electronic records match the active scale memory. FS-03i and FS-04i are alternative interface options, not simultaneous installations.
Commercial legal-for-trade use
For U.S. trade applications, A&D specifically identifies FS-30KiF at 70 lb × 0.005 lb as NTEP/MC legal for trade. Use the approved F version where the device determines a commercial transaction. The base FS-30Ki is excellent for process control, but its selectable resolution menu should not be used as evidence that every mode is trade approved.
