A&D SK-1000WP is a 1000 g × 0.5 g IP65 compact washdown scale for food preparation, small portions, ingredient checks and other wet or dusty work. Its SUS304 stainless construction, removable 232 × 192 mm pan, large 25 mm LCD and six-D-battery power make it useful where ordinary compact scales are difficult to clean or protect.
For food and wet-work examples, open the SK-1000WP portioning and foodservice application guide. For cleaning limits, external calibration and approval checks, use the SK-1000WP cleaning, calibration and WPF guide.

SK-1000WP specifications
Capacity is 1000 g and readability is 0.5 g. The family uses six D batteries or an optional AC adapter, has approximately 1,200 hours of alkaline-battery life, supports tare and zero/net indication and includes auto power-off and low-battery indication. The large pan gives more working area than pocket or mini scales while the compact body remains easy to move between stations.
What IP65 means—and the AC-adapter exception
IP65 protects the correctly assembled battery-powered scale against dust and water jets. It is not an immersion rating. A&D explicitly states that the SK-WP series is not IP65-compliant when the AC adapter is connected. For wet cleaning, disconnect the adapter and protect the transformer/plug area; for a permanent powered station near water, design the electrical installation around that limitation rather than assuming the adapter shares the scale’s rating.
Food sanitation and NSF suitability
The SK-WP family is NSF compliant and uses washable stainless construction. It is suitable for portioning, ingredient preparation, seafood, deli and other sanitation-sensitive tasks when cleaning procedures are compatible with IP65. Remove food residue promptly, avoid chemical concentrations that attack seals or plastics and verify the scale after substantial cleaning.
External calibration and verification
SK-1000WP uses external calibration. Level and stabilize the scale, use an appropriate calibrated reference and verify with an independent known weight after adjustment. In daily operation, a quick zero and check-weight test before important batches can reveal impact, residue, low batteries or pan contact without changing calibration unnecessarily.
SK-1000WP versus SK-1000WPF legal status
MNM’s listing uses the SK-1000WP base name and markets NTEP/NSF approval. A&D’s current U.S. catalog identifies the legal-for-trade configuration as SK-1000WPF. For a regulated transaction, confirm that the supplied nameplate, suffix, certificate and sealing match the approved WPF configuration before placement in service. Do not treat the presence of pound units or successful calibration as proof of type approval.
Best-fit users
Choose SK-1000WP for small food portions, wet ingredient checks and cleanup-intensive work that fits within 1000 g gross capacity. Choose SK-2000WP for twice the capacity at 1 g readability. Choose SK-5001WP when 5 kg capacity and 1 g metric-only operation are more useful, remembering that SK-5001WP is the non-NTEP exception in the U.S. family.
