A&D SK-20KWP is a 20 kg × 10 g IP65 compact washdown scale for larger food trays, produce boxes, ingredient containers and wet production checks. It carries twice the capacity of SK-10KWP while retaining the same 232 × 192 mm pan, so container geometry deserves as much attention as the weight rating.

20 kg capacity on a compact pan
Capacity is 20 kg and readability is 10 g. The stainless pan remains 232 × 192 mm, which works for dense products and moderate containers but may be too small for broad totes or boxes. A container touching the bench or housing bypasses the load cell and normally produces a low result. Use a larger platform when the load cannot sit safely and freely.
IP65 and power configuration
Battery-powered SK-20KWP is IP65 dust/water-jet resistant and NSF compliant. It is not submersible. Connecting the optional AC adapter removes IP65 compliance for the series, so washdown procedures must include adapter disconnection and protection.
Battery life and portability
Six alkaline D cells provide approximately 1,200 hours, supporting mobile receiving, market prep and temporary production stations. Move the scale without a load, place it on a rigid surface and verify zero plus a known weight before use. A table that flexes under a 20 kg load can create errors even when the scale is calibrated.
Food and wet-work fit
Ten-gram readability suits produce cases, bulk ingredients, meat or seafood trays and larger package checks. It is not intended for fine recipe additions or precision formulation. Use a smaller higher-resolution scale for those components and SK-20KWP for the larger gross batch.
External calibration and verification
Use an appropriate external reference after the scale is dry, level and stable. Verify at representative working loads and test container contact. When the unit is an approved commercial configuration, preserve seals and follow qualified service procedures rather than changing calibration settings without authorization.
SK-20KWP versus SK-20KWPF
MNM markets the base SK-20KWP name as NTEP/NSF certified. A&D’s current U.S. catalog identifies SK-20KWPF as the legal-for-trade configuration. Confirm the delivered suffix, nameplate and approval before regulated sales. Do not assume a base process model shares the certified configuration merely because capacity and appearance match.
