Texan-Tested Calibration Weights vs Certified Masses: What Cypress Ships

Buyers type calibration weight and get a lecture on ASTM classes. That is not what All Scales USA puts in most of the small cartons we ship from Cypress. We ship Texan-tested check masses. We do not ship Texan-certified masses. We do not print ASTM, OIML, or ISO 17025 on the house-tested 5 g and 10 g pages. If your quality manual needs a certified class, say so on the call. That is a different buy.

10 gram Texan-tested calibration weight for compact and precision balances

What is on the live leaf tonight

The calibration weights collection has three visible SKUs.

Each live page says to match the mass your balance manual names before you calibrate. That is the whole product. We check these in Texas against our own weights. That is what Texan-tested means. It is not a certificate you hang in an ISO folder.

5 gram Texan-tested calibration weight shipped from All Scales USA in Cypress

Texan-tested vs a certified mass

A certified mass comes with a stated class and paperwork from a lab that claims that class. We are not putting that claim on these three SKUs. Do not order the $12 10 g and tell an auditor it is Class F1. If you need a certified set, call (832) 766-5410 and we will tell you what we can source. We will not invent ISO 17025 or A2LA on All Scales USA in this post.

Sister site listings we fetched at HTTP 200 include a 100 g process weight on MNM Scales and the ek1200i calibration weights leaf. Read those pages as sister stock. On All Scales, the language stays Texan-tested, not certified.

The 100 g in the FX-123 box

The A&D FX-123 we sell includes a 100 g Texan-tested stainless weight. That weight is a process check mass — All Scales USA checks it in Texas against our own weights so you can span after install or a move. It is not a certified trade mass. The live FX-123 carton is A&D FX-123, 122 g × 0.001 g with 100 g Texan-tested weight — $675. How to run that external span is already written: how to calibrate an A&D FX-123. We are not editing those FX-123 posts. Reloading leaf: reloading scales.

How we pick a mass on the Cypress bench

  • Read the manual. A 10 g compact and a 100 g precision balance are not interchangeable checks.

  • If the job is a daily process check, the 5 g / 10 g / 20 g Texan-tested pieces are what we ship.

  • If the job is legal-for-trade, the weight is not the only problem. Start with NTEP in Texas and NTEP legal for trade.

  • A compact bench that needs a check weight is covered here: compact digital bench scale.

Handle with a cloth or forceps. A fingerprint on a 5 g piece is a real error on a milligram balance. We do not include forceps in these cartons unless the page says so — and it does not.

On the Cypress bench we treat a Texan-tested piece as a working check, not a lab artifact. We compare it to our own shop masses, bag it, and ship it. That is enough for a daily span on a compact or an FX-123 after a move. It is not enough for an auditor who asked for a certified class. If your SOP says ASTM, stop and call. We would rather sell you the right certified set later than mislabel a $12 10 g.

A 5 g piece belongs on a small compact that names 5 g. A 10 g piece belongs where the manual names 10 g. The 100 g Texan-tested weight that ships in the FX-123 box is for that 122 g balance and other instruments that call 100 g. Do not use a 5 g to span a 122 g reloading balance and call it done. How to run the FX-123 external span is already live: how to calibrate an A&D FX-123. Reloading stock sits on reloading scales.

FAQ

Are these ASTM certified?

No. The live 5 g and 10 g pages do not state an ASTM or OIML class. Texan-tested process weights. Not Texan-certified.

Can I use the FX-123 100 g on a jewelry Scout?

Only if that Scout’s manual names 100 g for external span. The SJX1502N/E is a different instrument. Match the manual, then call if you are unsure.
