How All Scales USA Handles a Houston Calibration Call from Cypress, TX

Most Houston calibration calls start the same way: a floor scale that will not zero, a crane kit that hunts, or a balance that drifted after a move. All Scales USA takes those calls in Cypress. This is how the call actually goes — not a second service page. The service page is Houston scale calibration, repair, and rental. Use that page to request work. Use this post to know what we will ask before anyone leaves FM 529.

Rice Lake Ishida iPC compact bench scale — the kind of bench All Scales USA calibrates from Cypress

What we ask in the first five minutes

Have the scale in front of you if you can. We want make, model, and capacity off the ID plate, not a guess from a packing list. Then we sort the job into a type we actually work on.

  • Where is the scale — shop floor, shipping dock, overhead hoist, or a lab bench?

  • Can it move? A 30 lb bench comes to Cypress. A 4 × 4 floor pad usually does not.

  • What failed — will not zero, will not hold, drifts, damaged cable, dead display, or you just need a periodic check?

  • Is this process weighing, or are you selling by weight? That changes the conversation. NTEP on the nameplate is not the same as placed in service.

  • Do you need a rental while it is down? Say so up front.

We also ask for a photo of the indicator and the load-cell cable ends. A lot of “bad scale” calls are a cut homerun or a 6 V pack that will not hold. That is a parts order, not a wasted trip. If the cell is shot, we will say so before you pay for a calibration that will not hold. That sentence is on the live service page because it is how this shop works.

Floor vs crane vs balance

A floor or platform scale is a different visit than a hanging crane kit. On a floor pad we care about the deck, the feet, the homerun, and the indicator. On an S-type crane kit we care about the cell, the 20 ft cable, the eye bolts, and whether you are hanging or in tension. On a compact or precision balance we care about the bench, a warm-up, and a known mass — not a 1,000 lb test weight.

Lab balances (Sartorius, A&D, Ohaus, Radwag) and food / washdown counters are on the service list. So are the indicators and load cells that drive industrial kits. We work on the same equipment we sell, and we will look at a brand we did not sell you. We know our own MNM Scales crane kits best.

We do not do truck scales, pit weighbridges, axle scales, or livestock weighbridges. If that is the call, we will tell you on the first ring. Do not drive a truck to Cypress expecting a weighbridge crew.

What we will not promise on the phone

We will not invent a same-day SLA. If we can get to you quickly we will say so for that job, not as a standing offer. We do not claim ISO/IEC 17025 or A2LA. We do not claim All Scales USA is a TDA licensed service company on this page. If your job is legal-for-trade place-in-service, read NTEP legal for trade and say that on the call so we can tell you what we can and cannot do.

We also will not quote a county radius from a blog post. Houston, Cypress, and the surrounding area is the language on the live service page. If you are outside that, still call. The answer depends on the scale, not a map pin.

In-shop vs on-site

Bring it if you can. A compact bench, a hanging crane head, an indicator, or a load cell on the desk is faster on FM 529 than a truck roll. Floor platforms, installed loader hydraulics, and crane kits that are already in the air are on-site conversations. Tell us about docks, lift gates, and whether we can hang a known weight. The form on the service page asks for location and whether the scale can be moved. Use it. Or just call.

Who can install, calibrate, repair, and maintain industrial scales?

That exact question already shows up in search. The honest Cypress answer: a dealer that sells the kit and will still pick up the phone when the cable fails. All Scales USA sells the scale, stocks the battery and the cable, and takes the calibration call from the same shop. We repair what we can on the bench. We rent when we have the type you need. We do not pretend to be every kind of service company. Truck and rail are out. Legal-for-trade paperwork has rules we will not blur on a blog.

If you are buying a new scale in Cypress or Houston, the same number handles the sale and the first check after it lands. That is the point of calling (832) 766-5410 instead of ordering a carton into a break room and hoping.
