Leoch DJW6-5.0 Replacement Battery for Scales (6V 5Ah)

A dead pack in a crane indicator or a portable bench does not mean you grab the first 6 V battery in the catalog. The Leoch DJW6-5.0 is a 6 V 5 Ah sealed lead-acid in a long, thin case. All Scales USA sells it as MNM Scales stock from Cypress. The live page is MNM Scales Leoch DJW6-5.0 6 V 5 Ah SLA battery at $98. Always MNM Scales — that is the house name on the carton we ship.

Leoch DJW6-5.0 6 volt 5 Ah sealed lead-acid replacement battery for scales

What this pack actually is

Voltage is 6 V. Capacity is 5 Ah. The live All Scales page describes the case as about 6.6 × 1.25 × 2.6 in. Leoch’s DJW series table lists DJW6-5.0 at 169.5 × 34.5 × 70 mm with T1 / F1 blade terminals — the long, thin stick, not the brick. That is the pack we stock. The carton is the battery only. An AC adapter is not included.

Leoch also publishes a DJW6-5.0T at 70 × 47 × 100 mm. That is a different shape. If your old pack is a short brick, do not order this DJW6-5.0 and hope it folds into the bay. Pull the pack. Measure length, width, and height. Read the voltage and Ah on the label. Photograph the terminals. Then call the shop.

Which scales take a 6 V 5 Ah like this

We sell this SKU for equipment that specifies a Leoch DJW6-5.0 or the same long-thin 6 V 5 Ah envelope. That shows up most often in digital indicators and hanging / crane heads that run a 6 V rechargeable SLA, and in some portable benches that hide a slim pack under the platter. It is not a universal 6 V battery. A 6 V 3.2 Ah Brecknell pack and a 6 V 4 Ah A&D EK-L pack are different cases. The CAS ZEB1 6 V 5 Ah on our batteries leaf is a 6 V 5 Ah for CAS EB series — same voltage class, not a drop-in for this Leoch stick.

If the label on the pack you pulled says DJW6-5.0, 6 V 5 Ah, and the case is the long slim one, this is the replacement. If the label says 12 V, or 4 V, or the case is square, stop. Email the photo to pete@allscales.com. We would rather miss a $98 sale than ship a pack that will not seat or that fights the charger.

How All Scales checks a swap in Cypress

This is the part the product page cannot do for you. Bring the old pack to 21249 FM 529 Rd, or send three photos: the label, a ruler on the long side, and the terminals. On the bench we check four things before we put a DJW6-5.0 in a box.

  • Voltage printed on the case — 6 V, not 4 V and not 12 V.

  • Capacity class — 5 Ah. A 3 Ah pack in a 5 Ah bay may run short. A taller 7 Ah stick may not fit.

  • Case — about 6.6 × 1.25 × 2.6 in on our live page. If your bay is 70 × 47 × 100 mm, you want a different Leoch, not this one.

  • Terminals — F1 / T1 blades on the DJW6-5.0. Faston width has to match the harness. We do not crimp a new connector onto a live scale over a guess.

We also ask how the scale charges. Many crane indicators charge the 6 V pack from the AC supply that ships with the head. This carton does not include that brick. If your wall supply died with the battery, say so. Shop other packs and adapters on batteries and power.

What fails when you grab a look-alike

A 6 V UPS brick that is 5 Ah on paper is often a different length and a different terminal. Forcing it bends the holder or leaves the pack rattling against a load-cell cable. Reversing polarity on a cheap look-alike is how a portable medical or crane head comes back dead. We have seen both in this shop. Match the Leoch number or match the three dimensions and the blades. Do not match “6 volt” and call it done.

After the swap, charge the pack on the scale’s own charger before you trust a job-site shift. A pack that sat in a warehouse still needs a first charge. If the indicator still dies in an hour, the cell is not the only suspect — look at the charger and the power board. That is a Cypress bench conversation, not another battery.

FAQ

Is the AC adapter included?

No. The live page is explicit: battery only. The scale’s wall supply or built-in charger is sold separately if your model uses one.

Can I use this in any 6 V scale?

No. Use it where the equipment specifies a Leoch DJW6-5.0 or the same long-thin 6 V 5 Ah case. Confirm voltage, size, and terminals on the pack you are removing.
